SS Point Fixed Railing - DORTEC

SS Point Fixed Railing

(often called Standoff or Pin-Fixed railing) is a premium frameless glazing solution where the glass panels are secured to the side of a staircase, balcony, or floor slab using circular stainless steel bolts.

Unlike systems that sit on the floor, this system is side-mounted (fascia-fixed), meaning the glass hangs off the edge of the structure, maximizing the usable floor space.

How the System Works

The glass panels are pre-drilled with holes. Stainless steel “standoffs” (cylindrical spacers) are anchored into the structural side of the slab or staircase. The glass is then “sandwiched” between the standoff base and a decorative cap, with rubber gaskets in between to prevent metal-to-glass contact.

Key Components
  • SS Standoff (Pin)
The cylindrical hardware that creates a gap between the glass and the wall.
  • Threaded Rod/Anchor
The heavy-duty bolt that goes deep into the concrete or steel structure.
  • Toughened Laminated Glass
Usually 11.52 mm to 19.52 mm thick. It must be structural as there are no posts.
  • Gaskets & Bushings
Plastic/rubber sleeves that protect the glass from the steel bolt inside the hole.
  • Cap
The visible circular front of the standoff, usually brushed or polished finish.
